For over 45 years, Scotiabank Centre has been our region’s hub for the best sports and entertainment events in Atlantic Canada and this past year was no exception.

Bringing some of the biggest crowds to Halifax in our history, Scotiabank Centre hosted almost 600,000 fans and helped create memories to last a lifetime. Month after month, weekend after weekend, Scotiabank Centre fans filled local restaurants, bars, hotels, and businesses, creating vibrancy and energy downtown that only comes from events at our venue.

We were thrilled to welcome the 2023 IIHF World Junior Championship with our partners and sponsors from here to New Brunswick. Our teams went above and beyond to make the global event a major success: we will never forget the feeling of Canada winning the gold medal on our ice! We were also so glad to welcome back the Halifax Mooseheads, the Halifax Thunderbirds, and the Royal Nova Scotia International Tattoo, and help deliver legendary concerts, university basketball championships, and star-studded comedy shows. These events brought so much joy to our city, and we were so thrilled to be the host of them.

Along with the unique mix of events, the Scotiabank Centre team remained focused on delivering our fan experience vision and continued to build on our reputation as a world-class event hosting venue and destination with the support of our incredible fans and partners.

I am so proud of our Scotiabank Centre team and so proud of our city for showing up this year, and we are looking forward to continuing to attract amazing events to Halifax.
